Information used by the service
| Information | Why it is used |
|---|---|

| Child first name or nickname | To distinguish profiles within the parent account. A full name, school, email address and date of birth are not requested. |

Purposes and lawful bases
- Contract: adult account, purchase, access and progress information needed to provide the course bought by the parent or carer.
- Legitimate interests: minimal child-profile and progress information needed to deliver the parent-managed educational service, and proportionate security, support and service-reliability work. These interests are considered against the rights and interests of the child.
- Legal obligation: payment, tax, accounting, consumer-rights and data-rights records where the law requires them.
- Consent: only where a separate optional activity legally requires consent. Maths Modelled does not currently use advertising or non-essential analytics cookies.
Providers and international processing
Maths Modelled uses Netlify for hosting and adult authentication, Supabase for protected course records, Stripe for payments, and Resend when configured for purchase-confirmation email. These organisations act under their own terms and data-protection commitments. Some processing may take place outside the United Kingdom. Where required, the relevant provider uses an adequacy decision or contractual transfer safeguards such as an approved UK addendum or international data transfer agreement. Contact support for more information about the safeguards relevant to a particular provider.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to deal with fraud or a payment dispute, or to protect the rights and safety of users. Maths Modelled does not sell personal information and does not use a child’s course work for advertising.
How long information is kept
| Record | Current retention |
|---|---|
| Course answers, attempts and day-by-day progress | Automatically removed once the course access end date is more than 12 months old, unless a dispute or legal requirement needs a temporary hold. |
| Parent account, child nickname and enrolment record | Not removed by the automatic progress-retention job. Kept while needed to operate the account and course record, and reviewed or deleted following a valid request where no legal reason requires retention. |
| Purchase, consent, refund and payment-event references | Normally retained for up to six years where needed for tax, accounting, contract, fraud-prevention or dispute records. |
| Support enquiries | Kept only while the enquiry is active and for a proportionate follow-up period, unless it forms part of a purchase, rights request or dispute record. |
| Hosting, authentication, payment and email-provider logs | Kept according to the relevant provider’s security and operational retention schedule. |
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, a person may ask for access to their information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to particular uses. Where consent is the lawful basis, it may be withdrawn. Rights are not absolute and some financial or dispute records may need to be retained.
Send a request to support@mathsmodelled.co.uk. Reasonable information may be requested to confirm that the request comes from the parent account holder.
Children and family courses
A parent or carer owns the account and controls the child profile. Course information is not visible to other families. There are no adverts, public profiles, chat, precise geolocation, behavioural marketing or automated pass predictions. Read the child-friendly course privacy explanation.
