Current position
Maths Modelled does not currently use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking or non-essential analytics cookies. There is therefore no non-essential-cookie consent banner. This policy will be updated and an appropriate consent choice added before any non-essential technology is introduced.
Technology used by the site
| Technology | Purpose and duration |
|---|---|
nf_jwt and nf_refresh essential account cookies | Allow the server to recognise and refresh a signed-in adult account securely. They are cleared on authoritative logout or when the account session ends. |
mm_member_session essential teacher-session cookie | Provides an opaque, Secure and HttpOnly proof of the one active teacher member session. A new teacher login replaces the previous value. The cookie lasts for no more than 30 days and is cleared on logout, displacement or password recovery. Only a one-way digest is stored in the protected session registry. |
| Temporary course-tool session storage | Passes a short-lived course-controlled model state to a linked maths tool. It is removed when read or when the browser session ends. |
| Anonymous tool preferences, board positions, best scores or times | Some public tools store a setting or anonymous result on the device. This is not sent to a Maths Modelled account and remains until the tool resets it or the user clears browser storage. |
| Stripe checkout technology | When an adult chooses to pay, Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies on its hosted checkout for fraud prevention, payment security and checkout operation. Stripe controls those technologies under its own privacy and cookie information. |
Why essential technology is used
Account authentication, single-session protection for teacher members, checkout security and the temporary transfer of a course model state are necessary to provide the service requested by the user. Blocking them may prevent login, teacher resources, course access or payment from working.
Browser controls
Cookies and local storage can be viewed or cleared through browser settings. Clearing account cookies signs the adult out. Legacy account storage, including the former spire-auth-session key, is cleared by current account pages and is no longer used to hold a login. Clearing anonymous tool storage resets preferences and locally saved best scores or times.
Children
There are no child-facing advertising or behavioural analytics cookies. A child uses the parent-managed course profile and does not create a separate login.
