Round every statement card, then sort the completed set by the property shown.
- Choose Practice or Challenge, a level and any Settings, then press New Game.
- For each requested accuracy, choose one of the two bounding multiples.
- Use Show number line when the bounds or midpoint would help. The result arrow stays hidden.
- After the rounding phase, select a card and then select the group where it belongs.
- Discuss what the cards in each completed group have in common.
Levels
- Sort one way: every card uses the chosen single accuracy.
- Mixed sort: accuracies change and cards are grouped by whether they round to the previous or next multiple.
- Round several ways: round each card using the largest useful accuracies for the selected range. Within 100 uses nearest 10 and 100; larger ranges use three accuracies.
- Midpoint mastery: identify numbers immediately below, exactly at or immediately above a midpoint.
Modes and controls
- Practice checks each choice immediately. Challenge checks all choices on a card together.
- An exact midpoint rounds to the next multiple.
- Reset current replays the same cards. New Game uses the current controls to make a fresh set.
- Print Worksheet opens teacher resources for teaching, playing, practising and checking this game.
- Touch, mouse and keyboard all use the same select-a-card, then select-a-group action. Dragging is not required.
