Decide which mixed-number calculations are true, then repair the errors.
- Play alone, cooperatively, or in two to four teams. Decide whether each subtraction statement is True or False, then Check.
- In Think and prove, choose True or False, then Prove it. Work through one question at a time. Convert to equal-sized parts, exchange a whole if needed and subtract. Finally decide whether your result proves the original statement true or false. False statements are corrected immediately. A correct first decision earns a point when your proof is complete. Teams take turns after each statement. Hint gives a clue; Show me works out just the current step. Help is recorded separately.
- In Play, a correct first decision earns a point. The game places the card in the correct pile and saves every false statement for the repair round. Teams alternate after every statement.
- An answer does not have to be in simplest form to be true: equivalent values count as equal.
- In Play, after sorting all sixteen statements, work together to repair every false equation. Enter a whole part, numerator and denominator. For a whole-number answer, leave both fraction fields blank. For a proper fraction, leave the whole part blank.
- Check repair accepts equivalent exact answers. Hint suggests a method. Show method and answer completes a supported repair, recorded separately from independent repairs. Finish when all errors are repaired.
- New game keeps your settings and deals a fresh arrangement. Restart this deal replays the current arrangement with progress cleared. Changing a setting begins a fresh game.
