Shade, share and answer. Keep the original whole as your reference.
- Prepared bar supplies the original equal parts. Build a bar adds a first step: choose the number of equal parts and Check bar. Tap parts to shade the starting fraction, then Check shading. Tab and Enter or Space work too.
- Choose the number of equal shares. Choose Share existing pieces when the shaded pieces can be shared as they are, or Split each piece first to make smaller equal pieces. The bar previews your choice; Make shares checks it. Only the shaded amount is being shared.
- Select any one share on the bar or with a Share button. This opens the answer boxes immediately. Enter its numerator and denominator, then Check answer or press Enter. Wrong answers stay in the boxes for correction. Equivalent answers are accepted and retained as written; Simplify is an optional separate action.
- Hint gives a partial prompt. Show step completes only the current step and marks the question as supported. Clear step resets the current decision; Clear input empties only the answer boxes. Undo reverses one model action, checked step or simplification. Restart task repeats this question with all working cleared.
- Mixed round has four different source questions: share existing pieces, split pieces, share existing pieces, split pieces. Existing pieces has four questions; Split pieces has two. Next question continues the round. New round keeps your bar/task choices and starts an unseen question order. If no fresh round remains, the activity says so; Restart task remains available. There is no timer or competitive score.
- The full whole stays the same size through every step. Other shares and the unshaded remainder remain visible. The selected share has a contrasting fill and dashed outline; feedback identifies its share number.
- Share this setup includes only bar/task choices and opens a fresh unsolved round. Print shows the current display on one A4 landscape side with Maths Modelled branding. Instructions, Fullscreen, Print and Home use the shared game header.
